Layout & Excavation
Your pool layout will be marked in your yard, by taking the dimensions of your pool and marking the area for excavation. After you approve the layout, the excavation process begins by the use of a bobcat excavating the dirt to form the basic shape of your pool.
Steel, Plumbing & Equipment
After excavation, steel is applied in the excavated area. Walls and floor consist of # 3-schedule rebar 8” on center making a grid pattern, and beams are # 4-schedule rebar. The plumbing stub out is done and the equipment is set.
Gunite
Gunite is a hydrated cement and sand mixture blown into the steel frame to form a foundation that has a minimum 4,000 PSI finished strength rating. At this stage, your pool takes final shape will all the benches, tanning shelves and steps formed.
Tile, Coping & Decking
Waterline tile is installed around the inside perimeter of pool, which provides aesthetic beauty. The coping is also installed around the outer perimeter of the pool; rock waterfalls or other water features are installed at this time. Decking design is laid out with forms according to your plans and concrete is poured, decking consist of 4” thick concrete with a minimum of 3,000 PSI with # 3-schedule rebar tiled on 16” centers to form a grid pattern. The decking is tied into the swimming pool, keeping the deck from pulling away from the pool.
Plaster & Start Up
The pool plaster finish you have chosen is applied, sealing the gunite, and creating a waterproof lining for your pool. Immediately after plastering, water is added, all the equipment is tested, and chemicals are started. Its now time for Pool School, where we will teach your everything you need to know to keep your pool clean, clear and running properly.
